Now Playing Tracks

Hello there!! :) Todays Inspire Me Monday was done for me as a guest post from Mrs Veronica I hope yall enjoy her post. Shes a great blogger and I love her designs. Hello Devilish Polish readers! My name is Veronica of The Gorgeois, and I will be your host for this week’s Inspire Me Monday. You may recognize my name from the bottom of Kelly’s usual Monday posts, as we have been collaborating on this very fun challenge for a couple months now. Since she is currently suffering from NID (Nubbin Induced Depression), I volunteered to do both of our Monday inspiration posts.

I went to see Moonrise Kingdom on Friday, and I absolutely loved the 60’s country aesthetic, so I thought I’d try to use that as my inspiration and recreate one of the iconic patterns in a manicure. Specifically, I am recreating the pattern on a pair of pants worn by Bill Murray in the film. I call it “Ugly plaid pants”. The 60’s country aesthetic is all about layering patterns and textures, most of which are, um… Kinda hideous. But it’s a look—and it works! Here is Bill lounging in his ugly pants. I would totally wear those pants.

Anyway, supplies:

-OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls
-Custom mixed acrylic paint for the blue stripes
-Sinful Colors Ruby Ruby mixed with NYC Broadway Burgundy Frost for the red stripes
-Spoiled Did I Dye It Too Blonde for the yellow stripes
-Sinful Colors Irish Green mixed with Sally Hansen Jumpin’ Jade for the green stripes
-Seche Vite If you’d like to see my second Moonrise Kingdom inspired manicure, head over to gorgeois.blogspot.com and have a look. Thanks for having me, Kelly!

Ah, thank you Veronica for the post.. :) I loved her design and Im in, I’ll wear the pants!! :)) Well yall have a great day, hope yall enjoyed this Inspire Me Monday!!
